Hanover Central High School's entrepreneurship students embarked on an enriching journey to RISE Fest 2024, held at the Studebaker campus in South Bend, Indiana. Led by their teacher Kris Fleming, the students immersed themselves in a world of entrepreneurship, networking with local and state-wide RISE students and alumni, and exploring innovative products and ideas. Prior to the festival, they savored the historical and cultural richness of Notre Dame's campus, fostering a deeper appreciation for academia and heritage. Through insightful reflections from students, it becomes evident how this trip not only broadened their entrepreneurial horizons but also instilled valuable life lessons and inspiration for future endeavors.
Ashton Mutuwa, a product of Hanover Central High School, embarks on a remarkable journey from his humble beginnings in kindergarten wrestling to representing Nigeria at the 2024 Paris Olympics. With the encouragement of friend Stevan Micic, Ashton returned to wrestling after a hiatus, ultimately earning his spot on the Nigerian national team through trials and competitions. His story of perseverance and camaraderie, highlighted by his friendship with Micic, exemplifies the pride of Hanover's athletic community. As Ashton prepares to compete on the world stage, his journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes everywhere, showcasing the power of determination and unwavering support from loved ones.
Hanover Central High School is hoping to implement a work-based learning program where students split their time between work and school. This allows our students to get a real-world workplace experience before graduation. Ms. Kepshire has made it possible for two students to participate in this potential program for the 2023-2024 school year.
Hanover Community School Corporation adopted the CREATE2THINK STEM curriculum through Equitable Education Solutions Innovation as part of our strategic plan. Mrs. Darnstaedt, students, and staff at Jane Ball Elementary and Lincoln Elementary kicked off the first unit. Stay tuned for more STEM updates!
